Dubai, UAE, 2014 – Food Banking Regional Network, has extended the partnership for the 3rd year with Coca-Cola Middle East to support the delivery of more than 1.5 million meals and beverage packages to Syrian refugees in Lebanon and Jordan in addition to the Needy families in Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq, through the Jordanian, Lebanese, Iraqi and Saudi Food Banks covering some of their screened approved Data base. This contribution is a cornerstone of the ‘Eradication of Hunger by 2020’ initiative, jointly implemented by the Food Banking Regional Network and Coca-Cola Middle East .

Over 1.5 million meals and Coca-Cola beverages are being donated by Coca-Cola and local bottlers and distributed by the member Food Banks of the Food Banking Regional Network throughout the aforementioned countries as part of the 2014 campaign, which is a continuation of the last 2 year’s initiative by Coca-Cola and Food Banking Regional Network. In 2013 Coca-Cola  company donated more than 1 million meal packages to underprivileged families in Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, and only beverage for KSA.

The collaborative effort of the Food banking Regional Network and Coca-Cola Middle East contributes to raising awareness about the need for such partnerships in extending support to communities in need in order to end hunger in the region.
