Dubai , UAE , 19 May 2015, among more than 100 entries for 2015 CSR Excellence Award, the Food Banking Regional Network Won the CSR Excellence Award for the best NGO/NPO at the 12th Annual CSR Summit held at the Marina Hotel – Dubai . The NGO/NPO Excellence Award aims to celebrate and reward the best non-governmental and non-profit organizations by showcasing examples of best practice and successful program delivery.

Running for 12 years, CSR summits are designed to share CSR and sustainability excellence to help drive social and economic development throughout the Middle East and Africa. The CSR summit aims to gather all of the key stakeholders responsible for driving the adoption of sustainability throughout the region including government, private sector, NGOs and international CSR practitioners.

Led by an expert panel of key stakeholders ranging from corporate, universities and sustainability experts, the awards recognized the outstanding achievements of organizations and teams that have contributed to the development of the CSR and sustainability agenda in the MENA region.

Amongst the winners, Food Banking Regional Network was named as the Best NGO/NPO practice.

Food Banking Regional Network created a unique model of NPOs for ending hunger through 6 main pillars:

- Feeding the needy unable to work.

- Educate, train and qualify needy able to work for jobs.

- Organize charitable work.

- Saving wasted food to end hunger.

- Engage and involve all the community to volunteer for the cause.

- Investments will insure sustainability.

Being the 1st to raise the flag to the necessity of saving wasted food to end hunger along with other variety of sustainable unique programs derived from these pillars; FBRN/EFB were able to serve millions of people & prepare a professional Operating Manual that helped founding 17 Food Banks in the Region. The winners established an ongoing commitment to provide continuous support to the social, economical, environmental and cultural aspects of the country through empowering the youth, creating job opportunities, fostering social entrepreneurship, community building, improving the education system, developing and empowering women..
