Syrian Refugees Relief Project on Feb 2015

In light of the massive snowstorm, The Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation* (Registered in Lebanon), chaired by HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, donates SR1.5 Million to alleviate the suffering of nearly 46,000 children and families living in harsh weather conditions. With the assistance of strategic partners; Nulabi Al Nidaa, Food Banking Regional Network (through the Jordanian Food Bank & Lebanese Food Bank) and Save The Children, this donation will provide food, medicine and clothing for families residing in the refugee camps as well as providing crisis medical services to control any spread of diseases and epidemics.

This initiative is a response to the “Alexa” snowstorm, which continues to bring freezing temperatures, fierce winds, rain and snow to the Middle East. Refugee camps in Lebanon and Jordan have been badly affected, with hundreds of refugees struggling to stay warm and dry in their tents and children are dying facing a harsh winter.

Since the beginning of the Syrian crisis, the Syrian Refugee’s Support Initiative at Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation – Global donated over SR5 Million to date through strategic partnerships with effective global rapid aid organizations.

Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation – Global, have extended a helping hand and executed programs in 90 countries around the world.  The Foundations have five main focus areas; Intercultural Initiative and Interfaith Dialogue, Community Development, Women’s Empowerment, Youth Enablement and Poverty Alleviation. Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundations endeavor to stay true to their slogan, "Commitment without Boundaries."
